A genuine Tiffany Lamp is a highly prized antique that is in short supply and sells for many tens of thousands of dollars. Ok, so we know we are after a Tiffany-style lamp – a copy, a reproduction. There are many companies that make reproduction Tiffany Style lamps. Some of them are good and some of them are not so good. As with many things, it is best to go with establish brands in order to get the best possible product.

Some of the established brands that make Tiffany style lamps include (but is not limited to) Meyda, Amora Lighting, Dale Tiffany, Robert Louis Tiffany, Franklin Iron Works, Quoizel and Bieye. These brands seem to have the most customer satisfaction from lamps that have been sold, and have low amounts of complaints.

Most of these lamps are had made in China. We just have to get used to this fact that they will not be made in the United States, as a highly labor intensive manufacturing process can not really be afforded here. I am on the lookout to find the best quality hand made Tiffany Style lamps.

These lamps are made using the traditional Tiffany studios technique of hand cutting the glass using the pattern or design as a template. After the glass pieces are cut they lined with copper foil.  The copper foil protects the glass and enables the adherence of the solder. This is a detailed process and takes patience and precision. The pieces are then soldered together with a tin or lead or zinc based solder.

We love the design and feel of this lamp. It is not flashy or showy. It is kind of subtle, but still very beautiful. As a mad fan of everything Art Deco, we love the genuine Art Deco design themes. It could easily fit on the moves set of ‘The Great Gatsby’ or any other location from the 1920s.

The colors are warm and attractive. It does not shock the senses with overbearing reds or blues.  The earthy tones and natural colors work together well – the copper and amber set against the cream and yellow looks great.

The build quality on this lamp is really quite good. If you are spending around $130, you will be very pleased with the level of quality in this lamp. Sure, you can find lamps that cost about four times as much as this, but pleasure you will receive from this lamp is well worth the monetary outlay.

What We Don’t Like About Bieye Tiffany Style Stained Glass Table Lamp

We do love everything about this. One review stated that the glass was plastic. This does not seem to be true. Plastic would not survive the fabrication process with the heat required for soldering. You can do the scratch test to confirm that the glass is in fact glass.

This lamp sits on top of a solid bronze resin base which means it is sturdy and will not be easily knocked. The bronze finish is subtle and not overpowering. The lamp is quite compact, standing 7 and a 1/2 inches high with 5 inch wide wings and sits on a four inch square base.
