What customers say about the Blink Outdoor 3rd Gen + Floodlight — wireless, battery-powered HD floodlight:

I see reviews stating the light was not recognized by the Blink app. You may check your camera’s firmware, I had 10.33 running and the light would not install initially. I updated the firmware to 10.48 and it worked. You can update camera firmware in the camera profile settings. You need the Blink outdoor camera with a USB connection. Connecting the USB cable can be tricky but take your time you’ll get it. Best to plug it in then snap the camera in place.

A quality item for the price, the LED chips appear to be very decent, the plastic lenses and housing are good quality, I think they’ll stand up well to weather and sun exposure if needed. After updating my camera’s firmware, installation was very straight forward.. you remove a plastic strip on the battery contacts, plug the USB cable into your camera, then snap it in place. The app recognizes the install and you adjust settings in that camera’s profile. You’ll see lighting icons appear in that camera’s profile screen (see pic). Lights are bright enough to illuminate a small area, and you get a color pic & video instead of grey IR if it’s dark. I wanted the ability to illuminate a side of my house should anyone decide to walk around the area.
